Sandra Greaves

Author

The official website for Sandra Greaves, author of The Skull in the Wood , a contemporary ghost story set on Dartmoor for 10+ readers.

Schools and libraries

I’m happy to do school visits, talks or creative writing workshops.

The Skull in the Wood is best suited to years 6 and 7, but I can also work with older children to create their own writing – both stories and poems.

I can do up to four talks or workshops in a full day, and can work with all abilities up to the age of 18. If you're interested in a visit, please get in touch with me here and I'll get back to you with details of my rates and availability.

I'm currently offering a presentation and Q&A on writing for big groups, and a ghost-story writing workshop for smaller groups.

Perfectly pitched for Year 6. Sandra gave us a real insight into her writing process. After her visit, classrooms were buzzing with discussions about books and writing.

A massive thank you for the workshops for years 7-10 - I had really good feedback from the students.
— Senior Librarian, Tor Bridge High, Plymouth
It was a real pleasure having Sandra in to talk with our year 7 students. You can always tell a successfully inspiring presentation by the number of hands still up wanting to ask questions - and there were many hands still up! The creative writing workshop Sandra led was fantastic and really fired the imaginations of our gifted and talented students.
— English Teacher, Kind Edward VI Community College, Totnes
Really successful... That you inspired them was evident from the quality of their writing and the comment from one who girl who said: ‘I don’t like writing, but today I’ve really enjoyed it.
— Librarian, Totnes
